Like the first in the series Skylar Robbins: The Mystery of Shadow Hills, the second, Skylar Robbins: The Mystery of the Hidden Jewels, and the third as well Skylar Robbins: The Mystery of the Missing Heiress, cover artwork for this title needed to appeal to tweens. The author wished to show the protagonist exploring the interior jungle of the featured island. Several images were used to create a Photoshop composite to achieve this end.
